Need a job that’ll actually work for you and your family?
Tired of trying to do it all – be it all – but the time commuting to and from work takes away time you could be with your kids, and the job itself either doesn’t pay enough or honestly just isn’t that enjoyable?
As a working mother, I get you. Really, I do.
When I was getting clear on what type of a job would fit my life, I really had to look at the bigger picture of what type of work culture could be sustainable for me.
So, if you’re thinking about switching up your job, take a moment to ask what kind of work culture you want for your WFH lifestyle. It might be easier if you think of work culture as a type of trip:
Do you want to be in a culture where your role doesn’t take up much headspace after you sign off for the day? Something that feels like a simple getaway?
Or, are you looking for a grand adventure, where your work-passion can have an outlet outside of your home life?
Here’s what I’ve learned after 15 years of accounting – from apprenticing at a CPA firm, to taking on my own clients, to founding a fully remote firm – I’ve seen bookkeeping from all angles and it can be your choice of a getaway or grand adventure!
Getaway Trip: If you’re all about straightforward tasks that stay at work, accounting’s got you covered. Clock in, tick the boxes, and when you leave the office for the day you can leave your tasks behind!
Adventure Trip: But, if you’re interested in a career where you can dive in and feel connected to your work, accounting has plenty of room for this, too, in a variety of roles! So, if you want to support clients and/or train team members, you can find space to grow!
It’s been over 15 years for me since I started working towards an at-home balance. Looking back, this was one of the most important question I asked for myself. And, I’m curious what it will do for you!
