“The Best Yes” . . .the best book to read in seasons of change!
“Today’s choices become tomorrow’s circumstances.”
Does this resonate with you?
When I first read that line in Lysa TerKeurst’s book, The Best Yes: Making Wise Decisions in the Midst of Endless Demands, I had to pause. It’s so simple, but so true.
And, it got me thinking about how the things I say Yes and No to define the possibilities and responsibilities for my future self. Sometimes the demands feel endless . . . with family, business, friends, personal desires . . . it can feel like there’s never enough hours in the day to do it all.
But it’s not about finding the time to do it all – it’s about finding the best YES for your life.
And you know it’s a best YES when it’s a YES in all four of these areas:
Physical
Financial
Spiritual
Emotional
Right now, I’m in a season of change with life and with work.
So, reading this book felt like the perfect resource at the perfect time because it’s prompting me to ask myself:
How can I make choices that contribute to the kind of life I want to live?
How can I say “No” kindly when it’s not the best yes?
How can I say “Yes” confidently when it is?
Are you in a season of wanting to make better choices for a life more aligned with your values?
For example, are you tired of saying “Yes” to a job that isn’t meeting your needs physically, financially, emotionally, or spiritually?
Before I started working in accounting, I had some mediocre-to-terrible jobs. And having a job that’s overly demanding, draining, or unfulfilling . . . it stinks! But I know it’s possible to find a job that you actually say YES to.
It’s possible to find a job that has flexible hours for family time and personal time. To earn an income that sustains your life and work in a culture that leaves you feeling energized at the end of the day. It’s possible to contribute meaningfully within your community.
If you’re reading this and thinking, “That’d be nice right about now, but where do I even start?” I’ve got you!
